I became aware of John in late 2008 through his blog. I was interested in learning about technical analysis and I was extremely impressed by John’s writing quality along with the level of analysis he used. His posts were informative, funny, and inspiring.

John has a track record that cannot be ignored. He has had multiple years of triple figure returns, and he posted all of his trades, so he put his picks out for anyone to scrutinize. There is no denying that he is one of the most successful and accomplished technical traders out there, which is quite amazing considering his age. I follow many Twitter traders & some of their blogs, but the most useful & practical daytrading advice & tips has come from John Lee via his blogs, Stocktwits TV show, & his helpful Tweets. He’s so generous with his knowledge, he doesn’t even charge $. I’m grateful John’s taught me where to find some of the best stocks to daytrade each day: e.g. Pre-market & reg. hrs. big movers, stocks with new earnings reports out, stocks moving on breaking news… This is all info. available free from financial sites. John says there are enough good free resources online, you can be a successful trader & not pay a dime for anything except trading commissions!

John’s taught me useful techniques. From him I’ve learned volume’s crucial in deciding when to enter & exit, how to play breakouts, candle patterns to pay attention to, the wisdom of scaling out of positions, importance of cutting losses sooner rather than later…, to name just a few tips that have helped a lot. If you want to learn trading, there is no one better. Here are several reasons:

1. Experienced both as a trader and a trading coach. Besides running his own hedge fund and trading every day (with triple digit returns for the last five years), John has personally tutored at least 30-40 people and improved their trading ability significantly. How do I know? I’m a student. I underwent the training sessions out of frustration from breaking even after trading for three years. What was the result of adopting the new strategy? In the one month since I opened my IRA, I am up 35%. Obviously, your mileage may vary, but the point is clear: HE IS EFFECTIVE.

2. He doesn’t BS around. He will tell you straight up if an idea is terrible without any reservations. This is one of the things I value most. There’s no wishy-washy, ‘say what you want to hear’ crap with John. If your idea is pure crap, he’ll waste no time in telling you. This is as valuable as knowing when a good idea is good. HE DOESN’T EFF AROUND.

3. Psychological principles. Any good trader can tell you that one’s mental state is of paramount importance – possibly even more important than the trading strategy being used. John hammers this point home. Much of his advice, videos, and training centers around maintaining a balanced, rational mindset conducive to profitable trading. He doesn’t just scream his strategies and let the mind take care of itself – he knows that cultivating that balanced mindset for trading is critical. HE KEEPS YOU IN A GOOD STATE OF MIND.

4. He truly cares for his students. If you see him on Stocktwits, on twitter, on his blog… you can just see his passion for imparting his valuable knowledge on motivated, focused people. If he sees that you are hungry to achieve your own success on your own terms, he will do everything he can to ensure it, because just a few years ago, he was in the same situation. He doesn’t flaunt his success and knowledge, instead only using it to assist others in their efforts to trade profitably. He’s always available online, he responds to questions and comments, and is constantly providing little bits of wisdom and encouragement. This is in addition to being one of the funniest humans on the east coast. Just talking to him about the market is a joy. HE IS TRULY CONCERNED FOR YOUR SUCCESS.

All in all, I cannot think of a better mentor to have – constantly running 3-digit returns, always available for help, doesn’t waste your time at all, and most importantly, truly invested in your success. It’s any wannabe trader’s dream to have a coach like him. – ADADAD

John has been hands down the best educator that I’ve come across. I’ve followed him for over a year and I can genuinely say that I’ve progressed more in the past year following him than I would have following anyone else.

Possibly an overstatement because I am new to the scene, but I have yet to see anyone with a more impressive track record and CONSISTENCY than John. It seems like the guy just never loses. And I would know, I am one of his students and have the privilege of learning from him in real time every day (BEST INVESTMENT OF MY LIFE). I swear, I can’t remember a trade he placed where lost more than half a percent, and when a stock takes off, I can’t remember a time he’s been aware of it and hasn’t caught it. Even trades that fail he ends up making money.

The guy is just a machine, and to top it off he shares all his knowledge and is willing to help anyone that asks. The best part about his method is there is no speculation, no guessing, everything is decided based on the action of the MARKET. John reads the stock market like its a book.
